Chris Forrester, Conference Chairman, & Industry Commentator
London-based Chris Forrester is a well-known technology journalist. He reports on all aspects of the TV industry with special emphasis on content, the business of television and emerging technologies. This very much includes interactive multi-media and the growing importance of web-streamed and digitised content over all delivery platforms including cable, satellite and digital terrestrial TV as well as cellular and 3G mobile. Indeed, he has been investigating, researching and reporting on the so-called ‘broadband explosion’ for some 20 years.

Mariusz Walkowiak, ADB
Mariusz is one of the founders of ADB and today is Vice President for Sales and Marketing for Eastern Europe, where he continues to drive ADB’s success in the region securing new business with ITI Group and Multimedia – both based in Poland. He is a graduate of universities in Bristol and the London Business School, England and Zielona Gora, Poland.

Mariusz has been working with ADB since the company’s inception 1995 when he assumed the role as a senior software engineer. He is highly experienced in the global digital television industry having previously held various positions with ADB in Poland, Taiwan and the USA. Mariusz combined his technical and commercial expertise to establish the highly successful Product Marketing Group for ADB. Recently he founded ADB’s interactive television department. The latter was subsequently branded tele.DOM, a division of the ADB Group focusing on the creation of interactive television.


Bob Bissell, BT Group
Bob is currently responsible for the customer environment architecture and strategy in BT’s Group CTO. He has played a leading role in defining and selecting IPTV settops, Home Hubs and BT’s first Remote Management System for hubs. Bob is a board member of the Home Gateway Initiative, which is defining HG requirements for multiplay services.

Marc Vogeleisen, Director of Business Development and Marketing for the Thomson Premises Systems (TPS) of Thomson.
In this role, he is responsible for strategic planning activities, the identification of new business opportunities, operational marketing and lead management for the digital STB, broadband modem & gateway, and residential telephony side of the business.

Prior to joining Thomson, Marc was with Philips from 1991 to 1997 where he held various positions, the last of which was as Director of New Business Development for the Philips Consumer Communication activity covering GSM, GPRS and DECT technology offerings.

Marc’s 13 year’s experience in the telecoms industry is theoretically underpinned by a Masters degree in Marketing Management from the ESSEC, Paris (1994) and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (1991).


Dr Paul Entwistle Pace Micro Technology
With 10 years payTV experience at Pace Micro Technology and a responsibility for intellectual property, Paul remains passionately involved in the evolution of the personal video recorder (PVR) and the technologies that will enable it.

From designing set-top-boxes for mass production through to advanced technology pioneering PVR in the late 90s and on to the connected home and triple-play, working with both networking and VoIP technologies. Paul is a technologist that believes simplicity is mandatory.

He has a growing portfolio of granted patents and a doctorate in parallel processing from the University of Wales.


Graham Whitehead, BT Innovations (PRESENTATION NOT AVAILABLE)
Graham Whitehead joined the British Post Office in 1968 as a Post Office University Student.

He joined the BT Laboratories after graduation and has worked there ever since on a wide variety of disciplines.

He delivers more than 300 presentations every year, and has produced a series of video tapes. He also contributes to many journals, newspapers, radio and TV programmes.


John Maguire, General Manager, Consumer Mobile,Silicon & Software Systems Ltd. (S3)
Maguire focuses on delivering client software to enable mobile broadcast digital TV on handheld devices. Maguire graduated from University College Dublin in 1992 with a 1st class honours degree in Electronic Engineering. In 2000, he received his master’s degree in Technology Management from the Smurfit Graduate School of Business UCD.

Goran Nastic Editor, CSI
Goran is currently the Editor of Cable & Satellite International, a bi-monthly publication that covers
broadcasting technologies and content distribution, including IPTV, mobile TV and home networking.

Prior to joining the ma gazine, Goran was an industry analyst in visiongain's telecoms strategy division, where he focused on mobile market trends and developments.

Goran has also worked as an Assistant Editor for Asian Communications, a monthly trade publication that focused on the telecoms industry in the Asia-Pacific region.

Goran holds a BSc degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southampton.
