Types of companies who can enter:
The awards are open to any company that markets technology, including hardware, software and services, into the cable, satellite, terrestrial TV and IPTV sectors. The awards are open to companies of any size or location. You do not have to exhibit at IBC or any other exhibition. Please note, any company can enter a maximum of seven nominations (a nomination being a product/solution/service) into the 2010 awards.
Types of services/products/solutions that can be entered:
The awards are open to any technology, including hardware, software and services, that is being marketed at the cable, satellite, terrestrial TV or IPTV sectors. However, to qualify for the 2010 awards, products/solutions/services must have been either announced, launched, or deployed to a customer for the first time during calendar years 2009 and 2010 (up to and including May 10, 2010). Please note also, that a company can enter no more than seven nominations (a nomination being a product/solution/service) into the 2010 awards (although you are allowed to enter more than one nomination per category).
Our definition of 'announced' or 'launched' is a public declaration about the forthcoming or immediate availability of a product/solution/service, usually at a trade exhibition or via a press release. It is not necessary that the product is available today - only that the concept has been announced publicly and backed by firm details of what the product will achieve, how the technology/service will work, an approximate (and realistic) timeframe for the development of the product, and evidence that the company has the necessary skills to deliver such a product (based on previous product/company history or personnel for example). We will need documentation supporting the date of such an 'announcement' or 'launch' in the form of press releases, exhibition marketing literature, exhibition catalogues etc.
Our definition of 'deployed' is the shipment of a product or the provision of a service, to a customer. Once again, we will need supporting documentation of some kind, perhaps in the form of a press announcement or a statement from the customer concerned, for example.
Guidance notes for entering the awards...
Awards representative:
In order to ensure the smooth processing of awards entries, we require one
person at your company to act as a liaison, or representative, for the awards
entry. This person will be our first point of contact should we have any
questions regarding your entry or require further documentation or help.
You will be asked to supply the name and contact details of this person
with your entry.
Obtaining an entry form:
In order to enter the CSI Awards 2010, held at IBC, you must complete the
questions outlined on our entry form (available from this website) and supply
any additional evidence requested or which you feel is necessary to strengthen
your nomination.
Deadline for entries:
All entries must be received at the CSI offices no later than 1800 GMT (London
time), Monday 17 May, 2010.
Electronic entries only:
Your entry form and supporting materials must be supplied as common word
processing or text documents (ie Word, StarOffice etc) or as PDF files.
They can then be supplied either as attachments to an email, or copied onto
a CD or floppy disk. Please note, we WILL NOT accept entries on paper.
One entry form per nomination:
You must complete a separate entry form for each nomination (a nomination
being a product/solution/technology that you are entering in a category).
Maximum of seven nominations per company:
One company can enter a maximum of seven nominations in 2010. You can enter the same product in seven different
categories, but a maximum of two products per category.
Please remember, each nomination must be presented on its own entry form and with its own supporting materials, even if the same product is being entered into multiple categories. If you are entering the same product in multiple categories, we need a separate entry form and separate supporting documents for each category you are entering (this helps with administration).
Entry fee:
In order to cover the cost of administration for the awards, it has become
necessary for us to introduce a small fee for entering the awards.
This is as follows :
First Entry £199 + VAT per company
Next Two Additional Entries £98 + VAT per entry
For Unlimited Entries £398 + VAT (7 Entries maximum per company)
Support materials:
We will need documentary evidence to support the status of your solution
(ie announcement/launch/deployment dates etc). You are also welcome to supply
other supporting information like press releases, marketing literature,
product specification sheets, customer testimonials etc, if you think these
will help the judges assess your nomination. As with the entry form, all
supporting materials must be supplied electronically (ie as PDF files or
commonly available text documents like Word).
One nomination per email:
If you are supplying more than one nomination, and sending them via email,
we would request that you send a separate email for each nomination. For
example, one email should contain the entry form and supporting materials
for nomination number one, and another email should contain the entry form
and supporting materials for nomination number two. This helps make our
administration easier. Thank you.
