The CSI Awards 2009

SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE 2008 CSI AWARDS WINNERS:

The CSI Awards 2009, held at IBC, are one of the most comprehensive and competitive technology awards anywhere in the world, designed to reward technical and product marketing excellence in the cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcasting and IPTV sectors. They are organised by CSI magazine and will be hosted at IBC, arguably the world's most important exhibition for the combined cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcast and IPTV communities. They are open to any company supplying relevant products, software or services etc, providing the technology in question was announced, launched or deployed for the first time during calendar years 2008 and 2009 (up to and including April 30th, 2009).

Background

The CSI Awards are entering their fourth year, having been launched in 2003 and held for two years at Mediacast exhibition in London (when they were known as the CSI Product of the Year Awards), then at IBC in 2005. They have attracted over 160 entries every year, gaining the endorsement of the industry's leading technology suppliers.

These are one of the most comprehensive technology awards anywhere and are designed to reward technical and product marketing excellence, with an emphasis on innovation. They are open to any company marketing goods or services into the cable, satellite, terrestrial broadcast and IPTV sectors, (regardless of whether they exhibit at IBC or not). They are organised by CSI, a leading technology magazine for the above markets and, since 2005, the awards ceremony is hosted at IBC.

The awards are judged independently of CSI by a panel of experts that includes practicing and former heads of engineering and operations from some of the world's most important network operators, well-respected consultants and senior industry analysts. In 2008 there were 20 people on the awards panel - a figure that allowed judges to specialise in their areas of greatest knowledge/experience, and which also provides assurance that the final result will take into account diverse opinions and backgrounds and, we hope, be the right one.

There are 16 technology awards categories this year and products/solutions can be entered if they were either announced, launched or deployed for the first time during calendar years 2008 or 2009 (up to and including April 30th, 2009). The deadline for entries has now been extended to Monday May 18.
